Regional Nurse Managers Complete Villanova’s Certificate Program!

Twenty-two nurse managers participated in the Villanova University College of Nursing’s spring continuing education Nurse Manager Certificate Program. 
This 34.5 contact hour program, held from March 11 – June 10, 2011, taught by Patricia Haynor, PhD, RN, NHA, focused on core concepts, contemporary theories and management strategies.
Topics included: organizational leadership and management theory, the role of the nurse manager, decision making/problem solving/critical thinking skills, team building, motivating/empowering/coaching staff, performance appraisal, staffing and scheduling, financial management and human resources management.
