With national rates of autism at approximately 1 in 90 children, there will be a great demand for nurses who are able to competently care for this population. Pediatric nurses need specialized skills to provide exceptional care. Nurses who care for adults will also need these skills as these children are maturing and entering the medical / surgical areas.
